Every child, regardless of their age, will first learn the vital skill of obtaining and maintaining an independent float. This is the safest and most reliable position for young children to breathe, rest, and remain calm.
Once your child learns to float independently, your instructor will assess their unique emotional, developmental, and physical readiness to gently build more advanced swimming skills. Our approach will build the confidence and security needed to enjoy the aquatic environment for a lifetime.
We recognize the reality of our families’ busy schedules and realize that making time for daily swim lessons can be very difficult. Consistency is key to learning complex motor skills, but we will do our best to accommodate individual situations.
We know life with kids can be unpredictable. That’s why we offer flexible scheduling options—so you can prioritize your child’s swim safety without adding stress to your day. Whether you need lessons that work around daycare, naps, or school, we’re here to make it work for you.
No two swimmers are the same. We tailor each lesson to your child’s age, ability, and developmental stage, focusing on both physical skills and emotional comfort. From first young floaters to older confident swimmers, we meet each child where they are.
Our Individualized Swim Lessons Teach Safety Skills to Children Starting at Around Age One
We’re not here to rush, pressure, or put kids in cookie-cutter classes. We’re here to meet each child where they are—emotionally, developmentally, and physically—and guide them toward independence in the water.
No matter their starting point, our instructors bring a calm, confident presence to every lesson.
Our goal is to gently introduce the water and teach them to float independently and maintain that position until help arrives. Each lesson builds trust between the child and coach, using calm, responsive techniques that support their physical and emotional development.
All lessons are designed to match your child’s pace while encouraging independence and reinforcing critical water safety behaviors.
From here we build on foundational skills already established. If they are ready, we focus on stroke development, endurance, and advanced water safety. Lessons are fully customized to meet each child’s ability and comfort level creating a positive and empowering experience in the pool.
Our adaptive program is designed for children with unique learning needs, including those with autism spectrum disorder, neurodiverse conditions, or physical differences. Certified instructors use proven, individualized techniques to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and capable in the water—no matter their starting point.
We believe water safety extends beyond the pool. That’s why we host monthly CPR Socials—casual, hands-on gatherings where parents, grandparents, and caregivers can learn American Red Cross CPR and first aid. These events are designed to be approachable and empowering, giving families valuable tools to respond in an emergency.
SafeSwimSolutions offers private swim lessons for children ages 8 months to 8 years, as well as CPR training for families, across select regions in California. Our certified instructors provide personalized, one-on-one lessons designed to build safety, confidence, and water safety skills from infancy through early childhood.
